Dr. Alice TamDr. Alice Tam is a graduate of the School of Optometry, University of Waterloo and is a member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists (CAO), Ontario Association of Optometrists (OAO), and the American Optometric Association (AOA). She is certified to use Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents (TPA) in Canada and has received specialized training to fit Orthokeratology Contact Lenses (Ortho-K). While interning in Pinellas Park, Florida, Dr. Tam gained invaluable experience by working alongside a variety of different ophthalmologists that are specialists in the area of the Cornea, Retina, Cataracts, and Glaucoma. Dr. Tam has also traveled to Calgary, Alberta, where she gained significant exposure to the pre and post-operative care for refractive surgery (Lasik/PRK) patients, in-depth testing of binocular vision, low vision testing, and performed many contact lens fittings. As a soft contact lens wearer herself (and previously rigid gas permeable hard contact lenses, RGPs), Dr. Tam has a special interest in contact lenses. She attended The Vision Care Institute, in Jacksonville, FL, and completed the specialized contact lens fitting program. |
